Big Facts Small Acts

When COVID hit Atlanta, Black and Brown communities were hit hardest. We were challenged to connect with them in a way that felt real—not like a preachy PSA. I collaborated with Creative Directors to develop creative efforts to find a message that came from within the community, not above it.

We partnered with local muralists to “deface” their own work by adding masks—turning street art into powerful public health statements. These murals became bold, everyday reminders to protect each other without sounding judgmental.

I was also tasked to create social media content with daily reminders around how to #CoverOurCommunity. Check out our work on social.

I designed bilingual masks—“JUST TRYIN’ TO STAY ALIVE WHILE BLACK”—that were sold and donated across Atlanta to spotlight the harsh realities amplified by the pandemic and racial injustice.
